Auditions for The Children’s Theatre’s first show of the season, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, will take place at Reith Hall on Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5. Please come with a parent at 6:30 to complete registration and receive your badge number. At 7:00 P.M., cold readings will begin and the front doors will be locked. If you arrive after 7:00, on Monday, your child will have to wait until Tuesday to audition. Callbacks will take place on Thursday, October 7. There are only 27 speaking roles, so unlike our musicals, where we try to find places for extras, this show will not have much room for non-speaking roles. There are no dance roles and only a group singalong, with the exception of one small boy who will sing a brief solo. Thus, only small boys will need to sing “Happy Birthday,” along with their cold reading. Children ages 8-18 may audition; 18 year-olds must still be in high school. There are 4 older males, 6 older females, 8 boys, and 9 girls. Rehearsals will be scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30. They will begin on OCTOBER 12. NOVEMBER rehearsals will run from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The production will be held at the Schwartz Center for the Arts on December 4, a Saturday evening show, and a Sunday matinee, December 5, 2021. If your child’s schedule conflicts with these dates and times, please consider auditioning for a FUTURE show. Auditions will take place in January for The Princess and the Pea, and for our musical, The Wizard of Oz, in mid-March.
PLEASE NOTE: We WILL have rehearsals the Monday and Tuesday of the week of Thanksgiving (November 22nd and 23rd), so, if cast, plan accordingly.
Also, you must let us know at auditions if you will not be here for Thanksgiving week as well as any other planned absences such as a vacation.
